Fishing Report

A few more keeper bass reported over the last few days. These fish were taken with a variety of baits, SP minnows, bucktail jigs and rubber swim shads in the artificial category. While cut bunker and clams are always a good bet in the natural bait department… John Yac

Fishing Report

Today is a good day to give it a try! With the approaching front, increasing NE winds and 2 days past the full moon all of which should spell fish on! I’m hoping that once this front moves through on Saturday, the bigger fish that are up to our north will start to slide south along their fall migration route. But for right now it’s mostly albies and small blues by day with a few keeper bass on small swimming plugs at night…. John Yac

Fishing Report

Never caught a False Albacore? Maybe now’s the time to give it a shot. Lavellette Beach thru IBSP are all good locations to try. Look for birds working within casting range, tie on any thin metal or epoxy jig and just give it a toss in the direction of the feeding birds. Mix up the speed and action of your retrieve and more than likely you’ll be fast into your first “Albie”. Like all other surf fishing patience and persistence will always pay off in the long run… John Yac

Fishing Report

There are some better bass around, fish 26 to 29 inches are being taken by hard working dedicated surf anglers under the dark of night. SP Minnows remains the plug of choice for a large majority of these surf casters and I’m sure there are always a few bait guys mixed in. Blues and albies  by day are keeping anglers busy, these fish are being taken on bait and lures alike. Reports from trollers in our area yesterday was no fish as of yet… John Yac

Fishing Report

Small blues on cut baits is the cry coming from the surf for the past few days. Not a ton of pressure from surfcasters, but the few who did venture out were kept busy with small to mid size blues. the bulk of the fish caught were on cut bunker and mullet. A few small bass have been taken out back and around our local bridges. These fish are taking small swimming plugs readily when present. Casting a small to medium size bucktail with a rubber tail is always a good bet for luring the bigger fish to your hook… John Yac

Fishing Report

As far as the fishing in the surf goes, its just more of the same. Small blues on cut mullet with the occasional short bass in the mix. The dock bite out back both on fish and crabs has slowed down a lot… John Yac

ATTN: BAIT FISHERMAN!! We have FRESH clams in the shell, yes fresh clams in the shell while they last! >>> $7.50 Doz.<<<

Fishing Report

If your not fishing first and last light in the surf right now your missing out on 90% of the action! The mullet run seems to be slowing, with the size of the blues being taken right now shrinking daily. There is still small to the occasional keeper size bass both out front and back in the bay. This bite seems to be only in the magic times of the day, first and last light and into dark. We need some cooler weather and the larger bait schools that are off shore right now to move in closer to the beach. Remember it’s still early in our area for the fall bass and bluefish run!… John Yac

Fishing Reports

Along with the solid small bluefish action out front add to that some small to the occasional keeper size bass being taken at first and last light. These bass are taking small swimmers and paddle tails also on the smaller side. The dock out back gave up a few short bass yesterday all on cut bunker and cut mullet… John Yac
