Fishing Report

Kingfish, cocktail blues, fluke and rays are on the daytime tides with sharks lurking in the dark. This is a typical summertime surf report. The bay on the other hand is making all the noise. Large catches of nice size crabs and blowfish are being taken daily from boat and docks alike, with the majority of the blowfish coming from the boats fishing the BB and BI buoy areas. There is still a pick of keeper fluke down by the Barnegat Light area and creeks just to the north… John Yac

Yesterday’s cry coming form the bay was “BLOWFISH”!! Nice size catches of good size blowfish were coming in from the back bay boaters. The usual spots were producing. The BB and BI buoys behind IBSP would be my first choice. If you are coming out of the Toms River area, try north of the RT 37 bridge. Crabbing in our area of the bay has been on fire, both east and west shores have been producing nice size crabs in large numbers… John Yac

Fishing Report

Plenty of activity going on both out front and back in the bay over the past several days. Kingfish, cocktail size blues and fluke are all present at different times in the surf. Summer time visitors include, large cow nose rays, trigger fish and lets not forget our hard fighting night visitors, the sand tiger sharks. The bay has a abundance of blue claw crabs and the rich hard shell clam beds off IBSP adds to a shell fish delight. Small blues, fluke and blow fish round off the bays fishing possibilities… John Yac

Fishing Report

If you never caught a Kingfish now is the time to give it a try! Just pick a good looking spot along the surf line, tie on a hi-lo Kingfish rig baited with sand or blood worms and your in business. Adjust your casting distance till you locate the fish and the action begins. The size of these kings have been on the larger side the past few days, but regardless of size they are one good eating fish!… John Yac

Fishing Report

Crabbing is improving by the day both off our dock and rental boats alike. The surf is still loaded with cocktail blues chasing just about anything that comes in their range. Rays, kingfish, fluke and a stray cobia now and then are all players in the surf scene. There seems to be plenty of bait present, adult size bunker and rain fish to mention a few. Remember we have live killies and sand worms right through the season… John Yac

Fishing Report

Small blues of the cocktail size continue to dominate the surf scene right now with some fluke and rays also in the mix. Sharking on the night tides is also productive. Crabbing outback is heating up with a couple of 6″ to 7″ beauties coming off the dock yesterday. We have live killies and frozen vacuum packed mackerel fillets for your fishing pleasures… John Yac

Fishing Report

Looks like a cocktail party is going on along our beach fronts the past several days. Those tasty little blues are chasing just about anything within their sight. The bucktail gulp fisherman are not amused one bit because they are loosing the tails from the gulp attached to their jigs. Fluke and rays remain in the daytime mix with sand tigers lurking during the night tides. Crabbing out back and off our rental boats is slow getting started, a stark contrast to last year at this time… John Yac

Fishing Report

Great weather, clean ocean with a lot of life and fish to catch! Small blues, keeper fluke, king fish and pesky rays, enough to keep any surfcaster busy. The bay is also producing small blues, blow fish and some nice keeper crabs from our dock and rental boats… John Yac
